Jay Vachal, President and CEO

Jay is founder and CEO of Arise Ventures, Inc. the parent company of Arise Home Health Care. Arise Ventures was founded to comfort, support, inform, advise and equip family caregivers and the disabled, ill and elderly for whom they care. Jay is responsible for long term development, planning, strategic initiatives and financial resources for the company. Prior to founding Arise HHC, Jay was the Chief Operating Officer for Success Gear Institute, a division of Image Builders Promotional Agency. Prior to that he served as Vice President and Treasurer of GeoComm, Inc., a public safety communications/technology company. Jay has over 20 years experience in executive leadership in the areas of sales and marketing. Jay graduated from the University of North Dakota where he earned an undergraduate degree in Marketing. In 1988, he earned his MBA in Finance from the University of Maine.

Paula Muggli P.H.N., R.N.C. Director of Nursing

Paula is Director of Nursing for Arise Home Health Care. She is responsible for outreach and care planning for seniors. Paula has over 20 years experience in skilled nursing, case management and assessment. Prior to joining Arise, Paula was with Stearns County Human Services for 15 years working with clients of all ages providing skilled nursing visits, pca assessments, and waiver case management services. She has extensive knowledge of the home health care industry.

Of special interest, Paula enjoys working with the elderly and their caregivers. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Gerontological Nurse. Being a caregiver for her parents, Paula is also aware of the challenges and rewards of caregiving and can offer valuable resources for clients and families regarding their home care needs.

Sue Christensen, Director of Operations

Sue is Director of Operations for Arise Home Health Care. She has day to day oversight of all business functions including human resources, administration, marketing/sales, and care delivery functions for the company. Prior to being promoted to head of operations in July of 2011, Sue was the company’s Human Resource Manager for five years. Sue has a combined 20+ years experience in management, sales/service, and human resources. A native of St. Cloud, and graduate of St. Cloud State University, Sue enjoys serving the community in which she lives. Sue is also the Co-Chair of the annual Expo for Seniors and a Certified Life Coach.

Lisa Thielman, Office Manager

Lisa is Office Manager for Arise Home Health Care. She has been a part of the company since its start in, 2000. Lisa began her tenure with Arise as a caregiver for owner, Jay Vachal’s, son. She quickly added more responsibilities by also working part-time in the office as the administrative assistant. Lisa has since graduated from St. Cloud Technical College with an Accounting Clerk diploma. She now oversees all payroll, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, answers phones, and manages all functions of the front office. Lisa still enjoys the one on one care, and continues to work as a caregiver every morning before reporting to the office.
